What we’ve been up to….
After we arrived in base camp some of the people from the trekking group came to visit us for lunch! I was especially delighted to see Beccy and Rob
who share my love for ridiculous poses on rocks!
The next day we spent some time checking and preparing our climbing gear and had a morning in the lower ice fall practicing our climbing and descending techniques. It was good fun and we had a laugh.. The Khumbu ice fall is amazing and I’m nervous but excited about climbing through it when we head up to Camp One, which will be in a few days time.
After a couple more rest days at base camp, taking full advantage of the shower, we hiked across to Pumori ABC (5,700m) so that we could spend a night acclimatizing at a higher altitude. It was really beautiful over there and the views of Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse were fantastic.
The whole team made it over there in good time and we’re all bonding well!
